Our Convenor Puja Kapai recently delivered closing remarks at ‘CHUP: A panel discussion on “The silenced South Asian Woman’s stories of Hong Kong”‘, organised by the Zubin Foundation. The Panel was moderated by Shalini Mahtani, co-founder and Chair of the Zubin Foundation and included Dr. Philip Beh, K. Bhuvaneshwari Bhagat, Archana Kotecha, Dr. Ravina Lalvani, and Gladys Li SC.
As legal advisor to Call Mira, Hong Kong’s first helpline dedicated to supporting marginalised ethnic minority women and girls in Hindi, Urdu, and Nepali set up by the Zubin Foundation, Puja shared her insights on the patterns that can be discerned from the calls received and her views on what different sectors can do to help ethnic minority women and girls reach out and to strengthen their capacities for resilience in the face of violence.

Wow, this is a really important and insightful post! Thanks for sharing the details about Puja Kapai's involvement with the Zubin Foundation and Call Mira. It's crucial to highlight the challenges faced by marginalized South Asian women in Hong Kong and the efforts being made to support them. Definitely food for thought. It’s inspiring to see platforms like this raising awareness and giving voice to marginalized communities. On a lighter note, after reflecting on such serious topics, playing a round of Funny Shooter 2 can be a fun way to relax and recharge your mind.
